The Trinity Singers
pp38f391f0.gif
The Trinity Singers is a unique combination of concert choir and church choir, based on the north slopes of the Mendips in Somerset, England. The choir grew out of the three church choirs in Burrington, Churchill and Sandford and has now expanded greatly in size and scope.

With around 40 plus regular members, we give two major concert performances a year, while also continuing to sing at major services within the local churches. This offers our members a wide range of musical experiences, whilst remaining close to our church roots.

We have developed a reputation for ambitious and memorable concerts. In the last few years, performance have included Mozart's Great Mass in C Minor, Rutter's Gloria, the Mozart Requiem, Music from the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II, two Bach (JS and CPE) Magnificats, the Rutter Requiem, choral works from Verdi and Mascagni operas (in Italian!), Handel’s Coronation Anthems and “Come Ye Sons of Art” by Purcell all with professional orchestra and soloists.

Regular church services include the Advent and Christmas Carol Services, weddings, memorial services and choral evensong. We frequently perform in Wells Cathedral for evensong.

We have built close links with Churchill Community School, which has Performing Arts status, and regularly give joint concerts with the senior choir. These have included the Mozart Requiem, Janacek Our Father (Otcenas), Karl Jenkins' "The Armed Man: A Mass for Peace" and the world premiere of the “Missa Misericordia” by Andrew Tyrrell.

We also have strong links with “Churchill Music!” and we joined forces with Mike Brewer and his choir Laudibus, along with other local schools in the memorable and exhilarating concert “Songs on a Summer Afternoon” in 2008.

Trinity Singers have also established overseas musical collaborations. In November 2008 the Trinity Singers were visited by Coro S.Francesco e S. Chiara a Montughi, a choir from Florence. The Trinity Singers visited the Montughi Choir in Florence in October 2009. The experience was memorable and the performance simply sublime.
